Cemeteries across the country are required by law to provide consumers with a detailed breakdown of charges when purchasing property, either in a pre-need or at-need situation. When you contact a cemetery for pricing information, make certain that they are providing all the charges. The price of the lot, crypt or niche alone constitutes only a portion of the total cost. As a consumer, you are only able to make a value decision if you research all the costs associated with burial or interment.
Ground Burial
Individual, standard graves $1,250
Feature section graves $1,975 (sections 20, 21 & 23)
Section 17 monument lots $1,450 each (two grave minimum)
Section 36 graves (Garden of Serenity) $1,600
Standard monument lots $1,250 each (eight grave minimum—does not include monument or foundation)
Opening and closing a grave, $1,100 (includes chapel or graveside service)
Cremation Graves
Individual graves, all sections $650
Opening and closing a cremation grave, $550 (does not include chapel or graveside service)
Crypts
Single crypts from $7,000
Double crypts from $8,800
Opening and closing a crypt, $850 (includes chapel service)
Cremation Niches
Single niches from $1,450
Double niches from $2,900
Opening and closing a niche, $400 (does not include chapel service)
Other
Cremation fee $200
Flush memorials from $520 (plus tax)
Memorial setting and maintenance fee $225
Recording fee, $50 (applies when second urn added to a burial, entombment or inurnment)
Prearrangement Payment Plans
- Minimum deposit of 10% of total sale required
- Monthly payments up to five years
- 5% annual interest applied to unpaid principal balance
- Balance can be paid at any time with no penalty
- Checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover accepted; automatic payment options available
