Alberto Carlesimo was born March 2nd, 1935, and passed away March 17th, 2011.  He was the beloved husband of Aida (nee DiGregorio) for 52 years.  Loving father of Dino (Angela), Catherine (Timothy) Metzinger and Roberto.  Proud grandfather of Alberto, Marco, Santino and Ciára. Dear brother of Luigi (Valentina), Pietro (Enza) and Annunziata (Francesco) Niro.  Brother in law of Mary (Tony) D’Orazio, Pietro (Lisa) DiGregorio, Orienda (Franco) Piccinini, the late Elio (Marlene) DiGregorio, Randy (Lois) DiGregorio and Mirella (Domenico) Marra. He is also survived by 22 dear nieces and nephews.  The son of the late Caterina and Attilio Carlesimo and son-in-law of the late Marianna and Fiorino DiGregorio, Alberto loved life and he always lived it up to the fullest.  He always told his family, “Life is too short so live it up to the fullest, treat everyday like its your last, yesterday is gone, today we live, and tommorow we have to wait and see”.  He always loved to make pasta dinners for his family all the time.  He loved sports.   He loved to sit at home in his favorite chair in the world and watch the Tigers game.  Bocce was his favorite sport to play and watch and he won 1st place in so many tournaments in both Florida and Michigan.  Alberto loved politics.  He always watched his stocks and you could ask him any question about politics and he knew the answer.  Alberto loved music.  He loved to sing all the time while cooking pasta and his favorite singer was Pavarotti.  He would sing Italian songs in the car while driving and he sounded like Dean Martin, his grandson says.  Alberto had so many friends and he got along with everyone.  He always told the truth , even if it hurt.  Alberto loved his family and he always loved when the family was together.
