Our Beloved “Aunt Chris”, was born Helen Christine Milner in Detroit, Michigan.

She grew up on Detroit’s east side during the 1930s. Ironically her childhood home was just a few blocks from the Mt. Elliot & Elmwood Cemetaries on a street called Chestnut, which back then dead-ended at the Elmwood Cemetary.

As a child she and her siblings would play in both the Mt. Elliot and Elmwood Cemetary (much to the chagrin of her parents).

After graduating highschool, she went to secretarial school and later became a secretary. And I might add, she was an “old school” secretary who knew short-hand, took dictation and originally started out on an Underwood manual typewriter.

As an adult Chris moved to Highland Park, Michigan.
A devout Catholic, Christine was a member of the Church Of The Madonna, just east of Highland Park. She was an active member of Focus Hope and a personal friend of it’s original founders, Father Cunningham and Eleanor Jusitus.

After a unexpected diagnosis of bone cancer, our beloved “Aunt Chris”, was quickly called home by the Lord.

The suddenness of this devastated our family and thus her tombstone reads:

“If tears could build a stairway and memories build a lane, we’d walk right up to heaven and bring you home again”.

Aunt Chris, you are forever in our hearts!
