Cemetery Director – A Management/Leadership Position

As a Cemetery Director you will be responsible for directing cemetery operations and programs and coordinating activities of workers engaged in providing sales, customer service, burial services and cemetery ground maintenance by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations.
- Drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes.
- Oversee all daily operations over entire property to ensure policies, procedures and protocols are followed.
- Develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity.
- Increase productivity, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
- Share a trusting relationship with work group and recruit, manage and develop staff
- Commit to safety development and procedures
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance and sales targets
- Address employees’ issues or grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements
- Stay up to date with latest best practices and concepts
Skills
- Proven work experience as a supervisor/leader
- Proven managerial experience
- Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
- Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
- Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes
- Computer literacy, strong knowledge of Microsoft office Products
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills, excellent customer service.
- BS degree in Business Management or related field.
