We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Groundskeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal and functionality of both the indoors and outdoors of our cemeteries. This role requires a strong individual with attention to detail. Must be caring and have compassion for the families we serve with attention to details and skills in landscaping, maintenance, mechanics, and operation of heavy equipment. Must have the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Groundskeeper will play a crucial role in preparation of the grounds and mausoleum for services while ensuring that our grounds are well-kept and inviting to the public we serve.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and perform all duties necessary for daily services both on the grounds and in the mausoleum.
• Maintain flower gardens and grounds by planting, watering, weeding, and pruning plants trees and shrubs.
• Operate and maintain vehicles. power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Irrigate landscapes to ensure optimal growth and health of plants.
• Conduct landscape maintenance tasks such as mulching, trimming, and seasonal clean-up.
• Monitor the condition of grounds and report any issues or necessary repairs.
• Must possess good mechanical ability, interpersonal/communication skills and high levels of trustworthiness.
• Ensure all outdoor areas are clean and free from debris.
• Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, trucks, tractors, mowers and vehicles
• Set, raise and level markers, monuments and foundations
• Studies water system plans, inspects structure to repair or prevent leaks, cut and thread pipes. Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, pipes used of screws, bolts, fittings, solder and plastic solvents.
• Interacts with supervisors, staff, visitors, guest, suppliers and coworkers in a professional, courteous, prompt and friendly manner.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects safely and efficiently.

Skills

• Proficiency in landscape maintenance techniques and practices.
• Experience with garden maintenance, including knowledge of plant care.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, concrete, masonry, roofing, painting and carpentry
• Familiarity with operating power tools such as lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws and other misc. power equipment.
• Strong understanding of irrigation systems and their maintenance.
• Ability to maintain and operate heavy equipment.
• Ability to work indoor and outdoors in all seasons and all-weather conditions
• Ability to use hand tools effectively for various maintenance and landscaping tasks.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in groundskeeping duties.
• Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude.
