Join us for a very special evening of remembrance and hope as we honor those who have passed and help those in need. All families are warmly invited to gather at Mt. Olivet Cemetery for our annual Remembrance Tree Lighting – a time to celebrate cherished memories and support one another in the spirit of the season.

Set in our large warming tent, you’ll also enjoy Christmas refreshments, prayers, beautiful lights, and live music as you gather in fellowship and remembrance. You can even hang a customized ornament on the majestic Christmas tree in honor of your loved one. We look forward to welcoming you.

Mt. Olivet will once again be a collection site for Toys for Tots, as will Resurrection, Guardian Angel and All Saints Cemetery.  For a list of addresses, please see our cemetery directory here. 

Collection bins for new, unwrapped toys will be located in the front lobby from November 1 through December 6. 

Toys for Tots Guidelines for Gifts:

• New and unwrapped
• Preferably around the $10 or above price range
• Books are also needed
• Homemade toys are also accepted.

Each individual/family that donates at toy will be entered in the raffle with a chance to win one of three gifts:  

• 4 passes to Holiday Nights in Greenfield Village
• 4 passes to Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo
•  Magic of Lights Pass at Pine Knob along with Wayne County Lightfest Pass

Personalized ornaments will be made available through December 6 for $5 each to help memorialize your loved ones at Mt. Olivet. Ornaments may be purchased by mail, at the Tree Lighting Ceremony or in our office at Mt. Olivet during regular business hours (cash or check only). All proceeds will benefit Toys for Tots of Michigan, serving both Wayne and Macomb Counties.
